About Jacobson Drilling
Let Us Share Our History
Jacobson Drilling has deep roots embedded in north central Montana since our establishment in 1938.
Bob (Robert) Simpson started His water well drilling adventure in the early 1920s. Bud Jacobson and Bob Simpson, (Bud's Brother in law), would become partners - rebranding as Jacobson Drilling in 1938. Together, they shared many accomplishments in the water well drilling industry - operating multiple drilling rigs and offering a full water well service into the early 1950s.
As the pair downsized, Bud continued running Jacobson Drilling until the late 1980s. In 1990 Bob (Robert) Jacobson took the reins as second generation. He Helped the business expand into more modern, top head rotary drilling techniques.
Bob Jacobson would continue running Jacobson Drilling through 2021, until his son, Dane Jacobson, began the process of taking over the family business - a 3rd generation Montana water well contractor.
As of today Jacobson Drilling stands as the prominent choice of the Hi-Line as groundwater professionals.
